When I hatched a plan with Paul Procter last year to visit his main stomping grounds in the Cumbrian region of England, little did we both know what was to follow. Brown trout in the local rivers were the target but we could have never dreamed how the day would turn out, ending in his largest UK river trout ever. Paul wrote about the day's fishing in an exclusive story for Trout & Salmon Magazine's March 2018 issue and I supplied the photographs.

FlyMage Magazine #26 - February 2016 issue is available to view free online. This issue includes my own feature story and photos from a very successful first visit to Eagle Brae near Beauly in the beautiful Scottish highlands last September fishing for salmon and pike.
Great hosts, wonderful luxury log cabin accommodation and some spectacular fishing on two local rivers - what more can you ask for!?
Full contact details are included at the end of the feature.

A hard-fighting fly-caught barramundi from Thailand.
This very nice specimen barramundi I caught on the fly in Thailand back in May 2015 made the news section of the August/September edition of top French destination fishing magazine Voyages de Peche who I write for occasionally.
I book my fishing in Thailand through my good friend and expert angler Francois Helias who operates the very well-known Fishing Adventures Thailand - tell him I sent you!
It was always going to be a difficult trip in some ways, getting the first flight back into New Orleans from San Diego after Hurricane Katrina had left devastation in her wake and the clean up was only just getting started, but it was one Conway Bowman and I wanted desperately to undertake.
The January 2015 issue of Sport Fishing Magazine included my international calendar feature looking at some of the best flats fishing around the world for each month of the year - perfect for planning where best to go at any given time.
Thanks go to all my sources named against each entry - do check out their websites too if you are interested in visiting. Maybe I'll see you there.
There were three excellent additional choices that could not make the main article but you can find them with the digital version of the feature listed on the magazine website... http://www.sportfishingmag.com/flatscalendar
